Killer Kane

"Throw the Nazi buzzard overboard!" - one lifeboat passenger to another after they discover a man they have just rescued from the icy Atlantic is a fucking German in Hitchcock's "Lifeboat."

I got to see a movie tonight I liked. (It was not "Lifeboat.") This hardly ever happens. Sister Sal got me "New York Doll" for Christmas. Sonja and I watched it instead of watching hockey. Even if you are not a New York Dolls fan, even if you do not like rock 'n' roll, you ought to see this film. It will make you feel good/bad the way "The Wrestler" does.

I got the Dolls right away when I saw them on an old tv rock show or two but I did not buy their records until I was much older. A friend, who happened to be a wrestler, had their 8-tracks. That was all the Dolls I needed. The opening notes of their song "Vietnamese Baby" still make me want to shoot dope every time I hear them. Is that rock 'n' roll, motherfuckers? Oh, yeah...

Now that it is 2009 what I would like to see is a transvestite doped up country band. Just as long as the transvestite doped up country band is not fronted by Willie Nelson.

Stampede or All-Star?

And if Vietnamese Baby is the front-end of all that, would this be the backside?

Jon mentioned this movie, I believe, when I did a post on Arthur Kane a good while back.

Yet to see it. Or "The Wrestler", for that matter, which I've been intching to indulge in.

The two movies share similar story lines perhaps best expressed by Lemmy, "Fourth day, five day marathon/We're moving like a parallelogram."

That episode of Hee-Haw is the most watched tv episode in Flin Flon history.
