My dog and I watched one of the neighbourhood's families leave on vacation today. Mom, dad, three kids and their dog. People get pretty excited when they escape from this dull town.
If they were not off to see family in another dull Canadian town, they were off to a lake or the seaside. Dad will get shitfaced, mom will too ("You kids be careful. Your mother has been drinking!"), all the kids will hurt themselves ("I think I'm running out of blood ma."), and, between adventures, the dog will take every chance he gets to sleep on the dusty ground.
I am sure happy I still have a couple more weeks off this summer.
