Sonja asks me the same question every time she sees me do it.
"Who the fuck still buys cassettes?"
I do. For my part I find it bizarre people buy music files that they know are quite impermanent. Cassettes may not be as permanent as records but they do last one fuck of a long time if they are cared for and they sound just fine.
This week I bought a two cassette package of Beach Boys shit. Package was put out by Reader's Digest (who themselves are now gone I believe). Included in the package are instructions on how to take care of Reader's Digest cassettes.
I must love the Beach Boys - I own just about everything they ever produced.
The world could use a new superstar surfer band.
