Dopest Olympics Ever!

When it comes right down to it I have but one simple need. I need to have something to look forward to. That is why the first week of the year is the best. This is when I have the most to look forward to.

First I have to get shitfaced every time a Canadian wins a gold medal during the Dopest Olympics ever. Get shitfaced and do not go into work the next day. That's the Olympic Spirit Canada!

I can smell roller derby coming up soon. And I do mean smell. My keenest sense is my olfactory one. That is why I like to sit trackside. After I have paid my addmission, I like to smell some roller derby spirit, some roller derby tomato.

In just a few months the local thoroughbred track will once again start taking my wagers on live racing. I am hoping the roller derby girls will make a promotional appearance. They would brighten up the place better than the lookalike beer girls the track usually bring in to try and arouse their customers with.

Soon after the horses begin running the forest industry contracts should be getting serious. We seem to go on strike every time the contract runs out. We might be going down, but we are going down fighting.

That is when all the fun of summer will begin. I wonder how many half naked women in hip waders I will see this year? Could be quite a few - I am thinking this summer could be a wet one.

That is just skimming the surface of the first half of the year. I cannot wait. Shit does not just happen - you have to make it happen.

Hi Mr. Beer,

I think you've hit a rich vein or two here... women in waders and the dopiest Olympics (I know you said dopest). Can't you just feel the excitement...

I admire your insight about having something to look forward to. That's so true, and one I share although I might stoop to some kind of intellectual posturing about it...

Regards

Dope City is going to have to live without me from now until the Olympics get over with. The good news is that it will all be over before roller derby begins in the spring!

I look forward to reading what you have to say about the importance of having things to look forward to.
