Every once in a while the radio station library of music I have in my head spins some religious music I heard as a kid on Hymn Sing. Hymn Sing was on CBC television every Sunday night, just before the Ed Sullivan Show if I am not mistaken. Hymn Sing was a bunch of Perfect Canadian Christians singing about Jesus, God and The Holy Motherfucking Ghost. Once in a while they would throw in a song about Mary to spice things up a little. The songs do not get played in my head often, thank fuck, but they will not go away entirely.
The only way I will ever stop that weird Christian music from entertaining me is with electric shock therapy and that is not going to happen with my consent. And I really do wish I could make it stop because I am pretty sure hearing Christian music in your head all the time is what makes people go insane, get homeless, join a gang or start a political party.
You would think listening to Motorhead and getting hammered for over three decades would have scorched the hymns from my brain by now. Guess I will just have to keep trying.
