Used to be young workers were keen as kindergarten kids to learn the hand signal language employed in my sawmill. Most of them view sawmill signing as a relic from before the dawning of cell phones. The children of sawmill workers sometimes will give it a go. Sawmill language, as it is not much shared with anybody but workers, fills a similar need for communication with non-verbal prison language.
