Deep Purple Crazy Horse

Two records by some of the old boys to write about. First one you have heard about, maybe even heard some of: Neil Young and Crazy Horse's "Psychedelic Pill." Too bad the Rolling Stones did not sound and create sounds like these old motherfuckers. Not that I was expecting anything different from maybe the best rock band to ever walk like a drunk giant on this or any planet. Listening to it on the way to and from the fucking mill on Friday actually got me feeling kind of stoned. Not acid stoned or anything; more of a should not have had those last three shots of absinthe buzz. I will be playing this record a lot this summer and for many summers to come. It makes me happy. $20 for a double cd. Comes with a little booklet dipped in acid.

Fuck I am a hippy cunt sometimes.

Second record is Deep Purple's "Now What." Probably going to be the record that reminds me until I die of the summer of '13. (DOA's Rickshaw Live record does not get released until fall.) Kills in every possible way. Double album. Got it for $25 from London Drugs. Not punk rock, not Motorhead, just a kick in the motherfucking head.

If you are 15 or 65, go buy both these records. Some of the old boys can still do it like the young ones can longboard down a West Van hill.

Hi Mr. Beer,

I've got the "Psychedelic Pill" album too, and I have to agree with your summary. It is incredible to me that he can extend a song over 20 minutes with that incredible guitar playing of his, Crazy Horse churning away behind him, and you don't tire of it at all.

Given your recommendation, I'm going to have to check out the Deep Purple album.

Regards
