This Is How the World Works

Every now and again things happen that make me happy I am not a big believer in government. Two recent events stand out.

The first one was the oil blow out off the coast of Louisiana. In that case a government agency, which in theory watches over the oil and gas industry, was proven to be a corrupt fucked up waste of money. They did not care to even keep a watch on the most dangerous of deep sea rigs.

The second one was the dam failure in Oliver that destroyed several homes and vineyards. The disaster was, perhaps, the most persistent and vile exercize of government incompetence in history. The government knew the dam was in danger of busting open for five decades and did nothing about it. The government sat on their hands for five decades despite the fact the dams of the province they are supposed to watch over all have the potential to do great damage if breached.

The face of George Bush, my friends, is the face of government everywhere.
