Land, Porn and Prisoners

To be regarded as a True Citizen of Dope City one must own land. If you do not own land you will find yourself on the outside looking in on just about every drunken kitchen party discussion. Renters, more commonly known as dope growers, are regarded as a necessary, yet criminal, social group just slightly more resourceful than the homeless.

But how does a person get to own land here in over-priced Dope City without risking your personal safety and liberty by growing pot like everybody else who wants to buy some land? Beats the fuck out of me. But I do have a few ill thought out ideas on the subject.

There is one commonality that the non-dope growing homeowning class I have encountered over the years almost universally share. They have all had, or continue to have, a large collection of pornography. I figure once a person's pornography collection reaches a critical mass they must out of necessity find a secure stable home for what they love. Something else I have noticed is that the bigger the home, the bigger the porn collection.

It is not socially acceptable to own slaves on your land like in the real old days, although the government of Canada's mass importation of seasonal labourers looks like slavery from where I am sitting. I think the housing of pornographic images in our homes satisfies the old primal urge to become successful and have total power over people who do not own land.

..................................................................

Henrik, Bjorn and I looked over the fish camp at Homegrown Lake we are thinking of buying. There is nobody living there so we sat on the porch and had a few beers. The dope growers on either side of the property eyed us suspiciously from their enterprises. They are all on the juice too so it will not be long before we are all seeing red eye to red eye if we can work out a price that suits our welfare beer budgets.
