American Hustle

Went with Sonja to see "American Hustle" last night. It was our first visit to Steepleton's new cinema. We chose the VIP theatre, our first such experience.

The seats were big but not as comfortable as we were expecting. It was hot as a late July afternoon at Kin Park inside. Management must have been hoping the heat would help them sell a few more drinks. Worked for me. Took three Jack and Cokes to keep me from becoming seriously dehydrated.

The movie was pretty good but then I am sucker for movies set in the late seventies. The soundtrack was disco. Just like the shit music so popular with people who do not think they are redneck cowboy motherfuckers today. When the Bee Gee's "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" was played half the women, including Sonja, sang along. How fucked up is that?

If only Canuck fans would learn to sing along with "Anarchy In the UK" when it is played during a break in play after excessive skirmishing during home games. That would even the score with the Bee Gees and their sing-song followers.

I never really hated the BeeGees.

Home games?

Why not just enlist the multitudes (who likely spent less $$ for tickets and Super 8 rentals) by heading down to California for the back-to-back over the weekend.

I was thinking of the first time I heard the Sex Pistols' first A-side played at an NHL game earlier this season in Van.

The Accident summed up my feelings about the BeeGees many years ago with their 45 rpm called "Kill the BeeGees (Right Now!)"
